Responsible use

Built for legitimate communication.

Numeratel services may only be used for lawful, authorized, and transparent communication. Fraud, scams, phishing, harassment, unlawful robocalling, malicious traffic, unauthorized caller identification manipulation, and attempts to bypass legal or platform safeguards are prohibited.

Our responsible-use commitments

Lawful Use

Customers must comply with applicable telecommunications, privacy, consumer-protection, and communications laws.

This includes the rules that apply where calls originate and where they are received.

Verified Customers

Identity, organization, intended use, and supporting documentation may be reviewed before or during service.

Verification is not only an onboarding step; details may be refreshed while service is active.

Abuse Prevention

Traffic and usage patterns may be monitored for fraud prevention, network security, service integrity, and compliance with Numeratel policies.

This means signalling and usage patterns — not indiscriminate access to what you say or write.

Monitoring

What "monitoring" actually means here.

We think customers deserve a straight answer on this rather than a vague clause, so here is the distinction we work to.

What we do

  • Review traffic and usage patterns — volumes, destinations, durations, completion rates, and signalling behaviour — to detect fraud and abuse.
  • Maintain call detail records and technical logs needed to operate, bill, troubleshoot, and meet legal and carrier obligations.
  • Investigate complaints received from recipients, platforms, carriers, or regulators.
  • Apply automated controls that flag irregular activity for human review.
  • Ask you for context when something looks unusual, before assuming the worst.

What we do not do

  • Listen to or read customer communications indiscriminately or as a routine practice.
  • Use the content of your communications for marketing, profiling, or sale to third parties.
  • Disclose customer information except where permitted or required, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Where access to content is ever required by law or by a valid legal process, it is handled under the conditions set out in the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Investigations

If something looks wrong.

Most flagged activity turns out to be a configuration problem or an unexpected but legitimate change in usage. The process below is designed to establish which it is quickly, while limiting harm if it is not.

  • Suspicious activity may be reviewed. Irregular traffic, complaints, or carrier notifications can trigger a review of the account and its usage.
  • Numeratel may request additional information. We may ask for clarification of the use case, evidence of recipient consent, updated documentation, or technical detail about the source of traffic.
  • Services may be restricted or suspended during an investigation. Where there is a risk of ongoing harm, legal exposure, or network impact, we may limit or suspend affected services while the matter is examined.
  • Confirmed violations may result in termination. Where a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service is established, services may be terminated in accordance with those terms.
  • Numeratel may cooperate with carriers, regulators, or lawful authorities where required. This includes responding to valid legal requests and to carrier or regulatory obligations that apply to our services.
  • Relevant records may be preserved. Where an investigation or a legal obligation requires it, related records may be retained for as long as necessary.

We aim to contact you before restricting service wherever it is safe and lawful to do so, and to explain what we need in order to lift a restriction. Immediate action may be necessary where a delay would cause harm or breach an obligation.
